Plainview will hold its annual celebration of all things “corn” (and butter) August 17th through August 21st!  Events in the five day line-up include the annual Praise Fest at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 17th followed by a Greenwood Prairie carnival and the anual Fireman’s dance on Friday, August 19th.

Saturday, August 20th events include the 5K/1 mile Run/Walk, a Golf Tournament, the always popular Antique Farm Tractor Pull & Games, Model Railroad Show, Soap Box Car Race, Bean Bag Tourney, Arts and Craft Fair,and Fun Fest for the kids.  A street Dance with live music by Shane Martin ends the day.

The Grand Parade is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 21st.  Free sweet corn from Lakeside Foods with award-winnng butter from Plainview Milk Products will be served in Wedgewood Park from 11 a.m. until its gone!.  Other events include a Co-ed Volleyball Tournament set to start at 7 a.m.; a BBQ Chicken Dinner at the Legion from 11 a.m. until gone, a FFA Petting Zoo at the Legion and the Firefighters Water Fight following the Grand Parade.

The Corn-on-the-Cob Day King & Queen and Miss Plainview Pageant are the “warm-up” events for Corn-on-the-Cob Days.  These events will be held Saturday, August 6th at the PEM School Gym in Plainview.

The Plainview Lions and City of Plainview put on this event with help from volunteers throughout the community.  Don’t miss this long-standing community celebration!
